Q: How long have you been modeling?
A: I got into modeling July of 2014 after I had a photography internship with a talent management and they convinced me that I should try out being in front of the camera.
Q: What do you take away from modeling?
A: Since I am also a photographer it helps me see things from both perspectives so I can give better directions to the models and I have a better idea of how angles look to the camera.
Q: Where did you grow up?
A I was born and raised in McCook, NE.
Q: What are some of your limitations/obstacles do you have with modeling? How are you overcoming these limitations?
A: I am a curvy 26 year old with tattoos which is definitely not the standard for the fashion industry. Beauty standards do need to be changed so I am not changing who I am to try to get modeling gigs and I hope my skills will get me there instead.
Q: What is your biggest fear?
A: I have an actual phobia of tornadoes but I’m assuming that isn’t the kind of fear we are talking about here, not succeeding as a photographer would be right up there with tornadoes. I moved away from my family to pursue my dream of being a fashion photographer and I don’t want that to be for nothing.
Q: Whats your favorite thing to do with your time off from life?
A: Experience all that Colorado has to offer whether that be spending time in the mountains, going to a concert, or checking out one of the many craft breweries.
Q: If you could have coffee with one celebrity who would that be? and why?
A: Dita von Teese, she embodies everything that I idolize. I love 50’s fashion and she mixes that with modern culture perfectly. She also isn’t the fashion beauty standard but she is constantly recognized as a fashion icon.
Q: What are some of fashion tips you live by?
A: Cat eye eyeliner and red lipstick. No matter what if you wear this you will feel fabulous and sexy!
Q:Have you always felt comfortable in front of the camera?
A: Not at all. I am more comfortable behind the camera so it has been an obstacle I had to overcome. There are still times where I make a cheesy awkward smile at the camera and giggle.
Q: What do you do to stay fit and healthy?
A: I have been a vegetarian for three years now which has made me have more energy and feel healthier. I also love to take my chocolate lab Wendall on runs, hiking, or for a bike ride.
Q: What do you do to stay calm and focused?
A: I live in the country east of Denver so whenever I am needing some alone time or to relax I sit on my porch with a craft beer. The quietness of the country grounds you and helps clear your mind.
